NY Minimum Wage Updates -2020

Minimum wage is increasing in many states across the country. Viventium is here to help you meet your responsibility to stay on top of minimum wage changes and comply with state laws.

Effective December 31, 2019, minimum wage in New York will increase depending on location of work performed, as follows:

Work Location

12/31/19

New York City - Large Employers (of 11 or more) $15.00 (no change)

New York City - Small Employers (10 or less) $15.00

Long Island & Westchester $13.00

Remainder of New York State $11.80

Minimum wage for fast food workers in New York City will remain at $15.00 per hour and increase in the rest of New York State, to $13.75 per hour, on December 31, 2019.

Effective January 1, 2020, New Jersey minimum wage will increase from $10.00 to $11.00. Many other states will see minimum wage increases in 2020. 

Your employees’ pay rates will NOT be increased automatically in Viventium. Don’t wait until the last minute to update your rates. Rate changes have an effective date, so you can schedule changes in advance to take effect on the date you specify. For mass updates, you can easily import your new rates.
