The agreement will raise the minimum player salary by almost 60% YoY to $35,000. Total compensation will increase by more than 30% compared to the 2021 season to US$54,000. Revenue sharing will also be introduced, which will give the opportunity for players to receive 10% of net broadcast revenues if the NWSL is profitable in years three, four, and five of the CBA.
“Our owners are committed to providing the significant and unprecedented investment required to build and sustain a professional women’s soccer league that properly supports our players, both as professional soccer players and as individuals,” says Marla Messing, NWSL interim chief executive.
At Football Media, we strive to form connections with more client brands to ensure that they elevate the women's teams we work with to their full potential.
