On Thursday 18th May NWEEG held their Annual Conference and Awards for 2017. It was a great day with lots of speakers sharing their experience of employee engagement. With such an eclectic group of businesses and ideas ranging from companies such as Pets at Home, 2BR radio presenter Simon Brierley, Bolton University and Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. Plus the other fantastic speakers, all discussing the importance of employee engagement and how it can make or break a business. I know that everyone present for the conference wont forget the drains and radiators reference that Simon Brierley spoke about, and it was clear everyone loved Instep's trust exercise (who knew balloons could get a room full of business professionals so excited). It was a great day and from the response we have had from the survey the delegates all enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
The evening then brought on the Awards, a chance to recognise all the people within NWEEG businesses who have shined. Its a chance for those people who were nominated and won to be shown how much their efforts are appreciated. Within these upcoming articles there will be videos showcasing the winners of these awards and seeing how much it meant to them.
The Awesome Apprentice Award winner was the first award of the evening and sponsored by Themis. The nominees were all brilliant but the award went to Adam Henry from Suresite Group. Suresite praised Adam stating that; "Since joining the company, Adam has engaged with all staff… showing a high level of patience with every member of staff including the less technically minded and proficient! Adam is passionate about the work he does and it shines through". Well done Adam, what a brilliant achievement.
