?? NVTC News & Events: NOVA tech hub secrets and celebrate at Tech100

Did you know Northern Virginia has emerged as a nation’s tech giant?

Welcome to November 2024!

I am thrilled to invite you to our upcoming webinar on Nov 19 titled, Hidden in Plain Sight: Northern Virginia's Rise as a U.S. Tech Giant. This past August, NVTC completed a groundbreaking study, drawing on data from 82 top tech organizations and interviews with over 30 senior executives. The study explores five critical dimensions of our tech hub: Talent, Innovation, Ecosystem, Business Attractiveness, and Proximity to the U.S. Federal Government. During the webinar, we will unveil the findings to both the media and community stakeholders. We will highlight the region’s position as one of the nation's leading tech hubs, and explore the opportunities and challenges that will shape the region’s future growth and innovation. (Register below.)

Also, on Dec 10, NVTC will host its 7th annual Tech100 celebration! We are shaking up the event experience this year with a cool Avengers theme, “Assemble Innovators!” and more networking. This year’s event promises to be epic as we’ll honor and connect with the region’s top innovators.

6. ?? Energize to lead proactively

Written by Andrew Deutscher, CEO and Founder of Regenerate .

Working harder but feeling less fulfilled.

Yes, but: Does that sound like a recipe for success?

When we are drained and exhausted, we can find ourselves becoming more reactive.

  • New projects are met with frustration.
  • Workplace disagreements blossom into outright conflict.
  • We become less capable of thinking and leading strategically because we are mired down in a cycle of chronic stress and frustration.

When we are adequately fueled and energized, we have more capacity. We have bandwidth to anticipate challenges, to make more thoughtful decisions, and to bring the secret sauce of innovation to our teams and organizations.

Leaders can better ensure their proactivity by:

  • Investing in recovery

  • Practicing cognitive reappraisals

  • Showing gratitude for small wins
