NVRC and Local Chambers Join Together to Assist Federal Government Employees or Contractors Impacted by Federal Government Shutdown
Northern Virginia Regional Commission
Official Planning District for Northern Virginia.
The Northern Virginia Regional Commission and local Chambers of Commerce serving the region are teaming up to assist Federal government employees/contractors in the event there is a Federal government shutdown.
The Commission and the Chambers are urging local businesses to sign up to offer neighbors a discount in the event the Federal government shuts down on November 17.
The discount will only be offered if the government shuts down.
How to Sign Up
Interested businesses can go to www.helpourneighbors.org to sign up to list their discount. The list of participating businesses includes address, city, zip, phone number and discount. The list will be available in a downloadable PDF document for residents to then print for their use.
“Northern Virginia’s business community has always been generous in a time of need. This effort is just one way we can let our friends and neighbors know that working together we can help those who are impacted by this unnecessary shutdown,” said NVRC Chairman and Alexandria Council Member John T. Chapman.
