Nvidia to Power Reliance Industries’ 1-GW Data Center in Gujarat with Advanced AI Processors

Nvidia Corp will supply artificial intelligence processors to Reliance Industries Ltd's 1 gigawatt under-construction data centre in Gujarat and will team up with tech giants Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Wipro to deepen partnerships in the growing Indian market, its CEO Jensen Huang said on Thursday, as per agency reports.

Huang and Reliance boss Mukesh Ambani shared the stage at Nvidia's AI summit as the two announced a partnership to build out artificial intelligence infrastructure and spur the technology's adoption in India.

Nvidia will supply its Blackwell AI processor for the Reliance data centre while its Hopper AI chips will be supplied to large-scale data centres of firms like Yotta Data Services and Tata Communications.

Also, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro will help clients deploy AI with custom-built solutions that use the US giant's enterprise software platform. Tech Mahindra will use its new Hindi-language AI model to develop a custom AI model called Indus 2.0.

"India produced and exported software," Huang said. "In the future, India will export AI".

Reliance will be creating applications as part of the partnership and selling it to consumers, said Huang, who is on a two-day visit to the financial capital.

Nvidia already has a presence in six locations across India. The US firm works with enterprises, cloud providers and startups to build AI infrastructure powered by Nvidia's accelerated computing stack comprising tens of thousands of its most advanced GPUs, high-performance networking, and AI software platforms and tools.

At the Nvidia AI Summit 2024, Ambani and Huang had a fireside chat to discuss India's transformative potential in AI and its emerging role as a global leader in this field.
