NVIDIA AND MMT TEAM UP FOR CHANNEL AI SUCCESS

In a play to boost the channel’s ability to support local AI projects, 英伟达 recently brought Melbourne-based partners together with the help of distributor Multimedia Technology (MMT). Hosted in Docklands and dubbed “Introduction to the NVIDIA AI Platform”, the event showcased NVIDIA’s full stack of hardware & software tools for AI, alongside Supermicro ’s portfolio of complementary solutions.

“AI has rocketed to the top of business priorities everywhere,” commented Carey Hassall , NVIDIA Partner Manager at Multimedia Technology. “This has left channel partners in a scramble to upskill themselves across a range of very new and complex technologies.”

“With our vendors NVIDIA and Supermicro leading the global charge on AI, we wanted to give channel partners a look behind the curtain at the tools being used on AI projects around the world, so they can pass these insights onto their own customers,” Hassall added. ?

The keynote presentation, delivered by NVIDIA Solutions Architect luke boyce , took a deep dive into the vendor’s software platform – NVIDIA AI Enterprise (NVAIE) – which is essentially a “toolkit” to assist developers across all stages of AI projects. A critical component of this platform is NVIDIA NIM, a set of AI inference-focused microservices that can be harnessed to quickly achieve generative AI at scale. According to the vendor, NIM provides developers with industry-standard APIs for building powerful copilots, chatbots, and AI assistants while making it easy for IT and DevOps teams to self-host AI models in their own managed environments, either on-prem or in the cloud.

Following the keynote, Supermicro Country Manager Duane Bretherton stepped up to present the server juggernaut’s portfolio of AI infrastructure. As a long-term OEM partner of NVIDIA, Supermicro has benefitted greatly from the AI boom, underscored by its inclusion in the NASDAQ 100 in July. ?Spotlighted in Duane’s talk were Supermicro’s rack-scale and liquid-cooled solutions for Generative AI, which have been selected for the world’s largest AI infrastructure deployments including xAI’s Colossus. The vendor’s entry and mid-range solutions also caught the attention of partners, which are suitable for smaller-scale workloads for businesses earlier in their AI journey.

For Johan Andries Meyer , Multimedia Technology’s CEO, the AI market is a major focus. When asked how the distributor is tackling AI, he described recent investments focused on building MMT’s service offering to mitigate the challenges partners face in delivering AI solutions.

?

According to MMT, the most significant challenges come from supporting larger customers, who are increasingly tackling AI projects via in-house development. This creates a need for specialized hardware & software infrastructure that IT providers are expected to deliver and support.

?

“Our NVIDIA partnership has put us in a position to bridge the AI knowledge gap in the channel, enabling our partners to support successful projects whilst growing their capabilities organically,” Meyer said.?

?

“In particular, we have invested heavily in growing our technical ability and building a best-in-class vendor portfolio of AI infrastructure solutions, covering all pieces of the puzzle including specialised Compute, Storage, Networking and Power & Cooling.” To complement their NVIDIA offering, the distributor also partners with a number of leading AI infrastructure vendors including Supermicro and Vertiv .
