The NV1 | December 2024
Welcome to The NV1: hydrofoiling news for curious minds.
This month’s update is packed with competitions, awards, tech and news. But first, let’s kick off with a very special competition. ??
?? ENVGO CEO Triumphs at SCI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in China
Our CEO, Mike Peasgood , recently took home first place in the Marine Economy division at the 8th Annual SCI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Shenzhen, China.
ENVGO was selected for the competition based on our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the global marine economy. Mike received top marks for his pitch to a panel of seven investors, advancing to the Grand Finals, where ENVGO earned 3rd place overall.
The Grand Finale brought together the top three scorers from seven industry sectors, featuring 21 of the best startups and scale-ups from a pool of 142 ventures invited to Shenzhen.
We’re proud to have represented Canada on the global stage for innovation. Go Team! ????
Welcoming a Member of Parliament to the Boatyard
We were excited to welcome a special guest to our boatyard recently: the Honorable Bardish Chagger , Member of Parliament for Waterloo. Our team at ENVGO deeply appreciates her strong support of Canadian sustainability and innovation.
Thank you for championing ENVGO’s mission to redefine the future of cleantech performance boating.
?? It Plugs In Like a Tesla
Here’s a fun fact: ENVGO's NV1 charging technology is the same as that used in Tesla vehicles. If people can plug in their cars, why not their boats, too?
The NV1 is designed to make charging simple and hassle-free. It seamlessly integrates with the latest charging infrastructure, providing flexibility to power up wherever your boating adventures take you.

The electric revolution is here! Manitoba Hydro, the province's utility, is exploring the deployment of its own EV charging network, following recent provincial authorization to support electrification initiatives.
“By adopting new standards and best practices for connecting EV chargers to the grid to ensure the reliability of the charging system, Hydro will give Manitobans the confidence they can use their EVs anywhere and anytime.”
This is an exciting step toward expanding the use of electric vehicles—and hopefully, boats too!
Space Agency Battery Tech for the NV1 - Awesome.
We used to think flying boats were a bit space age. Well, it turns out we might have been right. ????The Xerotech battery technology that powers the ENVGO NV1 is the same as some of the batteries used by the European Space Agency? – cool huh?
Meet the disruptive battery technology that is powering the electrification of everything else.
That’s All for Now…
Thank you to everyone for your support this year as we work to build the future of high-performance electric boating with the ENVGO NV1.
We wish you all a very happy holiday season and look forward to sharing more inspiring tech in the new year.
