Nuvo at SMFM 2025: Advancing Remote Pregnancy Monitoring

Nuvo was honored to participate in The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) 2025 Pregnancy Meeting. Seeing old friends and making new ones throughout the week was great. As always, the conference brought together experts in high-risk pregnancies to discuss the latest advancements in maternal-fetal care.

Remote pregnancy monitoring continued to grow as a recurring theme at SMFM 2025:

  • Dr. Nadav Schwartz had a very busy poster session on "Empowering Patients to Conduct NSTs from Home," highlighting success rates using Nuvo from over 2,000 remote NST sessions. Special thanks to Nuvo's Dr. Amit Reches and Barak Laish for all the hard work on this research.

  • Our partner, Philips, drew a big crowd for a Learning Lunch titled "Obstetric Innovation that Transcends Care Settings," which featured Dr. Richard Broth, Dr. Sina Haeri, MD, MHSA, and Dr. Michael Ruma. The session showcased different approaches and situations where remote pregnancy monitoring is having a significant impact. The speakers highlighted the use of new technologies for remote fetal non-stress tests, blood pressure, glucose monitoring, and more.

  • Dr. Adam Lewkowitz and Dr. Alisse Hauspurg chaired a Scientific Forum on Obstetric Innovation, where Dr. Richie Broth sparked a great discussion on remote fetal monitoring, including the benefits, concerns, and lessons learned in conducting remote NSTs.

Several other sessions at SMFM 2025 discussed different aspects of remote pregnancy monitoring, including Dr. Christina Yarrington's (University of New Mexico) dedicated session on "Remote Blood Pressure Monitoring (RPM)." This emphasized the importance of RBPM in tracking blood pressure levels among pregnant individuals.

These discussions reflect a growing recognition of RPM's role in prenatal care, particularly in managing high-risk pregnancies. By facilitating regular monitoring and timely interventions, RPM is showing tangible progress in enhancing maternal and fetal care for patients and providers.
