Rita, our nutrition coach at SACOSA, created this super simple recipe for Nutty Cacau Energy Balls with almonds and walnuts.
This tasty snack contains calcium, magnesium, protein and other important nutrients. Taste the sweetness of dates and the antioxidant properties of the cacao!
Ingredients:
- 7 pitted dates
- 20g walnut
- 30g almond
- 1 tablespoon of cacao
- grated coconut (optional)
To Dos:
1. First place the dates in a bowl covered with warm water and leave it for an hour. At the end drain the water and squeeze the dates by hand, set aside.
2. In a food processor blend the walnuts with the almonds. Then add the cacao and blend again. Pour into a bowl.
3. In the same food processor blend the dates and then add the cacao mixture. Blend again and you should get a moist, moldable mass (if not, add 1 tablespoon of water).
4. Form small balls and if you want to pass some grated coconut, leave the others with nothing. Take it to the fridge for about 15 minutes and they are ready to eat.
5. ENJOY what you′ve created!
