Nutrition is a Science, Not a Belief System

Don't let other people's opinions about nutrition convince you that you need to eat a certain way. ??
?All you need to do is go to the diet book section of Barnes and Noble to see that 99% of authored nutrition books are written to try to convince you that THEIR WAY is is the BEST WAY and the ONLY WAY.??
?This is far from the truth.??
?Nutrition, as a science, has really only been studied in-depth for less than a century. Compared to other sciences, which have been studied for thousands of years, it would make sense that we know much less about nutrition than something like, say, physics.??
?So much information you might hear about nutrition is purely anecdotal. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing and personal experience, case studies, and anecdotes can have their merit, it's important to remember that anecdotes never apply to large groups of people.??
?What does this mean for you? ??
?1. The reason there are so many opinions about nutrition is because the science of nutrition is so young and we don't have concrete answers for much at all.??
2. What works for someone else might not work for you.??
?If you're serious about improving your nutrition, it's important to take a look at current recommendations, which have been studied extensively, and maybe even take a dive into some peer-reviewed literature.??
?If you want to try keto, paleo, intermittent fasting, go for it. But remember there is no right way or ideal way for anyone to eat. Find what works for you.??
?And if someone tries to tell you that their diet is the magical answer, run far away. Very far.
