Hello, nurturing Mamas!
As we prepare for the holidays, it’s easy to lose sight of our own needs. But remember—you can’t pour from an empty cup.
In this week’s Nurture & Navigate, we’re talking about how to nurture yourself while managing the hustle of holiday preparations.
1. Prioritize "Me Time"
Even in the midst of holiday prep, it’s essential to carve out time for yourself. Whether it’s taking a quiet walk, enjoying a bath, or sipping tea while reading a book, find moments to recharge.
2. Delegate and Ask for Help
You don’t have to do it all alone. Delegate tasks to your family—have the kids help with decorating or ask your partner to handle a portion of the holiday prep. And don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
3. Set Realistic Expectations
As the holidays approach, set realistic expectations for what you can and can’t do. If you feel stretched too thin, it’s okay to scale back. Your family will appreciate a happy, present mom more than a perfectly decorated home.
4. Focus on Self-Care Rituals
Create small self-care rituals that nourish your body and mind. Simple practices like deep breathing, journaling, or listening to music can make a big difference in reducing stress and bringing a sense of calm.
Self-Care Element:
Create a Self-Care Checklist: Make a list of self-care activities you can easily fit into your day. Think of this as your personal guide to staying grounded amidst the holiday chaos.
Journaling Prompts for the Week:
Positive Affirmations:
"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you." — Anne Lamott
