At AnimaxFYB Studios, we recently had a heartwarming visit from a group of young girls eager to explore the world of animation. Their enthusiasm, raw talent, and curiosity were truly inspiring. They shared their sketches and they were so impressive, with a spark that could light up any screen.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen such remarkable talent in children, but too often, these creative gifts go unnoticed or underdeveloped. The reason? A one-size-fits-all education system that prioritizes science and math over the arts.

While STEM subjects are undeniably important, creativity fuels innovation, storytelling, and cultural preservation—essential pillars for any thriving society. The global animation industry is booming, yet in Ghana, the pipeline for nurturing young creative minds remains underdeveloped.

It’s time for the Ministry of Education and all stakeholder to recognize and support creative disciplines like animation, game design, and digital arts as viable career paths. By integrating structured arts programs into our education system, we can empower young talents—especially girls—to pursue their passions and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s creative economy.

Let’s champion a future where all talents are nurtured—whether in science, technology, or the arts. The next big animator could be sitting in a classroom today, waiting for the right opportunity to shine.
