Attrition in business is often a result of failing to support and develop individuals within the team. I firmly believe that every teammate or employee is a valuable asset, each with their unique skills and aspirations. As leaders, it's our responsibility to recognize and harness these talents effectively to drive organizational growth.
When I delved deeper into the reasons why talented individuals choose to leave, I discovered a common ground. Many joined with specific goals in mind – whether it was to learn new skills, advance their careers, or simply fulfil their immediate needs. Unfortunately, they often felt let down because their expectations weren't met.
Reflecting on this, I realized several mistakes that we, as Managers/ Leaders, often make:

it's impossible if I ask you to lift a buffalo on day one. But if I start with smaller challenges, like lifting a newborn buffalo daily, you'll eventually lift the big one. This gradual approach, combined with support and accurate assessment, makes the impossible possible over time – a principle applicable in our work environments.
