August is almost over and it has been eventful to say the least! From the Olympics ???? and Paralympics ?????? to the Wildfires ???? in Athens ?????? and the tension in the Middle East...

I am getting on with writing my book ?? but the weaving ?? of the narrative is proving challenging! Wish me luck! ??

I am still thinking about the powerful paradigm shifts that Yvonne shared with us on my latest Eudaimonia Liveshow episode.

For the first decade of my employed life, I truly thought that more knowledge and education was what I needed to succeed in my career. When I started my first business and I became a reluctant leader I employed every opportunity to apply my education: from Performance Management models to Systems Thinking, you name it! But something was still missing? The crux of what makes or breaks a leader!

What truly makes a leader charismatic? I can wholeheartedly say, it’s not communication skills… it’s not their intelligence… it’s not even their experience. Well… Yvonne wrote a BOOK about this and it is called “CREATING THE ACCOUNTABILITY CULTURE”. And I agree, Accountability is about working with INTEGRITY and Yvonne will show us step by step the ACCOUNTABILITY MODEL she has developed. Which is NOT about the leader holding people accountable, but creating an environment where every contributor wants to personally hold themselves accountable for the outcomes they are responsible for.

We have to constantly remind ourselves that we are making GROWTH while simultaneously acknowledging that we struggle at times. We are not expected to be flawless while we recuperate. Making PROGRESS is okay while simultaneously dealing with previous issues. ??

Living with the stress of having two truths simultaneously allows for greater FREEDOM. ?

Have you experienced meeting overload? ?? Do you know that there's a BETTER way? ??

? Eliminate unnecessary items: Cancel any recurrent meetings that do not provide value.

? Agenda is essential: If there is no clear purpose, hence no meeting. Keep it sharp and focused.

? Use technology: Quick chats, emails, virtual meetings and shared documents can save hours.

? Smaller, smarter: Just ask people who truly need to be there.

? Check the clock: Establish a rigorous time restriction (30 mins max).

? Provide an opt-out option: Not essential to them? Allow them to skip it. Show respect for their time.

? Prioritise impact: If it does not benefit the bottom line or the team's well-being, dismiss it.

Freedom does not require knowledge, it requires PRACTICE. ?? You cannot take all your BELONGINGS, identities, titles, attachments, shoulds, entitlements and bad habits with you or you will sink the speedboat. ?

You take your soul essence and trust that when you reach the shore you will figure out what to do and utilise all you can. But you must get into the speedboat NOW. ?? Not after you collected your "VALUABLES". You BELONG anywhere if you are true to your VALUES. Forget belongings and valuables. Stick to "belonging to your values"! ??

As my client eloquently said in our coaching session: "Freedom is not this abstract idea, it is tangible daily". Needless to say I was super inspired by my client!!! ??
