Nurturing the future | Little Scholars July 2023

Hello and welcome back! This month, we're highlighting our unique Family Time program as a way to save professional parents time where we can. We're also honouring our educators by highlighting Early Learning Matters Week, and we're looking at research that supports messy play.

Oh, last and absolutely not least, we announced our 14th CAMPUS! Little Scholars Parkwood is coming to you mid-late August! ?? Read through to learn more!

Family Time Program

As a busy professional, we all know it can be hard to find the right ways to best achieve work-life balance. As an important time-saving measure for our families, we offer our Family Time program!

We offer a range of opportunities to take back your time from endless appointments and ferry children off to sports and other lessons. We offer a range of extracurricular activities by experts in their field, right at your campus, including but not limited to, swimming, sport, dance, yoga, drawing, STEM, and language lessons, so you can keep your evenings and weekends for family time. We also regularly offer haircuts and dental visits, as well as specialist appointments such as speech therapy, hearing tests, podiatrists and more.

Dental checkups are just one aspect of our Family Time program designed to reduce appointment in off-hours and give families more time together!

We even offer take-home meals for our children and their families if they're running late and want to ensure a nutritious meal for everyone.

And for parents looking to reconnect with each other during that especially chaotic period of life with small children, we offer Date Night quarterly, with childcare at your child's campus until 9pm on a Friday night so you can book that reservation, get those tickets, and enjoy some grownup time together.

Early Learning Matters Week

In July, Early Learning Matters Week was recognised once again across Australia, and this year's theme was 'learning through connection.' Community is a huge aspect of Little Scholars, and we try to find many ways throughout the year to support and connect with our community. In July, we hosted our first annual Picnic in the Park, as a chance for our Little Scholars families to get to know one another and create new community connections! We also have community officers at our campuses who seek out new community connections and opportunities, such as with our Aboriginal community, our intergenerational program, charities and businesses we can support.

At Little Scholars, we make sure that learning through connection matters every day and that our programs support children to connect with their community. We talked to some of our educators at our Redland Bay campus to understand why they believe early education matters. ??

?? Exciting News! Little Scholars is Coming to Parkwood! ????

Last week, we shared something thrilling across our socials, and now we are beyond delighted to officially announce that Little Scholars is expanding once again! We've been humbled by the incredible feedback from families in Parkwood over the years, expressing their desire to have a Little Scholars campus in their neighbourhood. We want you all to know that we heard you loud and clear - and we are making it happen!

Introducing Little Scholars Parkwood - an incredible early learning campus where your child's growth and development will soar to new heights! At every Little Scholars campus, including Parkwood, our utmost priority is nurturing, teaching, and guiding each child, ensuring they develop the skills they need to succeed in life.

We believe in the significance of the first five years in a child's development, which is why our approach is designed to provide the comprehensive support and care essential for your child to flourish during this crucial time.

Little Scholars Parkwood will focus on the importance of building relationships, nurturing growth in cognitive, social, physical and emotional development, learning through play, in both the natural environment, while also harnessing the power of digital technologies as valuable educational tools. We believe in instilling a contemporary, sustainable, and values-driven learning foundation in every curious little mind we have the honour of caring for.

If you're as thrilled as we are and can't wait to enrol your child in Little Scholars Parkwood, the wait is almost over! Our doors will be open in mid-late August, and we're now accepting enrolments. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of our growing family.

The benefits of messy play

It's an aspect of childhood that might make some parents cringe - messy play. We understand, but we also believe the benefit of allowing children to get a bit dirty while they learn about the world far outweighs the negatives! In this article, we uncover the benefits of getting messy and how it plays a vital role in a child's growth and development.

While you're there, keep clicking to have a read of the range of articles in our blog! In it, we delve into the world of child development, early childhood education and the wonders it holds for little ones.

Did you know?

Speaking of getting messy, according to 2016 research sponsored by LG, Australians will spend an average 384 days in their lifetime doing the laundry. Additionally the research found that 26 per cent of people spend up to five hours a week washing their clothes, while 14 per cent spend upwards of seven hours each week washing. Good thing messy play is so good for children's development!

We'll see you next month.
