Take care of your network to sustain it. Provide value and think about how you can help people in your network to be more successful. Refer business and make introductions. Look for items of interest and forward them. Acknowledge success and empathize with setbacks. Stay in touch.
Don’t forget that your colleagues and other members of your profession are an important part of your network.
Some people are naturally good at maintaining a great network, and others have to work at it. Remember that networks are simply about people, and if you take care of them, they’ll take care of you.
Whether it’s sending an article of interest or making an introduction, set aside half an hour this week to focus on adding value to your network.
