Press Congress to Pass the 2017 Federal Budget with the Planned Boost for Alzheimer’s Research and Care
At the end of 2016, Congress failed to pass a 2017 budget and instead passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund federal agencies at 2016 levels through April 28, 2017 (see H.R. 2028). Some in Congress want to pass a yearlong CR at the 2016 funding levels, which would mean that the planned increases for dementia research and care programs would be lost. It is critical for advocates to support efforts by U.S. House and Senate appropriators to move a 2017 federal budget bill this March. Here’s what you can do to help to protect the planned increases in funding for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

7 年Very sad story... I don't really see this as an error, just an unfortunate outcome-very unfortunate. It's interesting: I have seen tons of articles where people are saying "to save costs, if not icu/ccu pt should be home and telemonitored" and then articles like this where people say "everyone should be monitored fully with all types of gadgets and have all staff standby in case of any emergencies1even if the patient is doing well". It can't work both ways.

7 年People make mistakes. Think of how many mistakes you made today alone. Missed appointments, forgot to pick up the kids, accidently deleted an email, sent your text to the wrong contact, ran out of gas, left the garage door open or the car unlocked. The difference is only in the consequences. So before you point the finger, take stock of your own mistakes.
