The Number Of Unnatural Deaths
As each one of these pleasant days pass, I'm ever-thankful we've not yet been hit with heavy snow and bitterly-cold temperatures. Now that we're almost at the winter solstice, you can really see how low the sun is hanging in the sky, and especially after dawn and before dusk.
When I arrived at office this morning, I decided to seat myself at my piano to play and sing 'Happy Birthday' while it was being recorded on my cell phone, and once finished, I sent it off to someone as their surprise birthday audio text. Before I sent it, I played it back and listened, just to make sure it got recorded. Later this afternoon, a text message came back thanking me for it, along with saying how much it was enjoyed and shared with others.
Most of my morning was spent rounding up the last of the items I'll be placing in those many Christmas gift bags which are destined for a group of delightful senior citizens.? When thinking back on the previous years' gifts, I'd say they'll be getting a few more things which should be well-received. Truth be told, I absolutely love reading the 'thank you' cards I get from them.
I finally received the final documents I was needing for today's closing, so I went ahead and finished up with it's file preparations for this afternoon's closing, and when the hour arrived, I couldn't have been more thankful everything fell into place. I'm confident the buyer will carry-on with the extra care that home has been given over the many years the owner lived there. I insisted he call and have me go and look at it once he's made the little improvements he's got planned. Yes, he comes from a very good family I've worked with over these many years.
One of my clients asked if I was free for lunch today, and since I wasn't that busy, I agreed, so we ended up having a quick lunch out at Burger King where I ended up having a Whopper Jr. which by the looks of it, has now shrunk in size compared to what they used to sell.
As chance would have it, I happened to run into a long-time client of Holtz Realty who had his son with him, and for whatever reason, I didn't recognize his son because of how many years it had been since I sold him his home in a neighboring town. Of course we spent a few moments going down memory lane regarding the crazy happenings which have taken place in that small community over the years. There was a time when I was beginning to wonder if that town was cursed, and only because of the number of unnatural deaths. Not to worry, it's been settled back down for a good decade, so whatever type of evil it was, it's moved on.
While walking past that apartment house they're building down at the corner of my office, I happened to notice how sloppily they were attaching that cheap chip-board sheathing, and then wondering if that's gonna be the general quality of their end product. It's good I haven't a thing to do with it, because I would've been far more demanding, and only because I've always insisted that if you're gonna do something, do it right or don't do it at all.

We're still getting additional showings scheduled on the two listings of mine located at 1715 N. Delaware and 1012 N. Carolina, and I'm really hoping the buyer I'll be showing one of them tomorrow, will be interested enough to where he'll end up purchasing it. Do wish me luck.
I had to take a few moments today to send a text message to a perfidious soul, requesting once again, the name and/or phone number of a person that was mentioned, along with a firm request that several items be returned to me, and only because after much discernment, I'm of the belief there are others who're far more worthy to have them. I've not ever been one to request the return of something, but the severity of a hurt that was inflicted on me, gave me the license to request their return. Would you blame me?
While reading the news today, I happened upon a very long article which was written by a woman who'd spent decades studying the Russian people. It came as no surprise when she insisted the average Russians have been under the yoke of a Nazi-like regime for decades, and to think Putin used the excuse to declare war on Ukraine because their country was filled with Nazis. After reading her article, I've come to an even better understanding of the mindsets of the average Russian citizen. Yes, they've definitely been fully-propagandized to the point where it'll likely take a generation or two for them to finally understand how real democratic governments work.
Another interesting point she made, was how Russia which has a GDP on the par of Mexico, continues to hold itself out as a world power on the par of the United States, Brazil, India and China. Putin and his propaganda machine have certainly made the world believe they're a super-power in all respects, yet not.
Victor Orban who's another Putin-wannabe, is trying to make his country of less than 10 million, look like they're another force to be reckoned with. If I were those other member States of the European Union, I'd tell him to either follow the rules everyone agreed upon, or leave the bloc. Back when I was traveling middle Europe, I paid a short visit to Hungary, and wasn't the least bit impressed, even with Budapest.
Tonight's One-liner is: When fake news is repeated, it becomes difficult for the public to discern what's real.
