If you think of your mind like an iceberg, the tip of the iceberg is like your conscious mind – the part of your mind that you’re thinking with right now – and everything below that is your subconscious mind.
This part contains all the memories of everything you’ve ever done, seen, heard, felt and thought in your life. It controls your automatic behaviours – like how you feel when people say certain things to you, or how once you learn to read or write or ride a bike you can do it without even thinking about it. In the beginning, when you were learning to do these things you had to think about it with your conscious mind – the part of the iceberg that stick out of the sea.
Hypnosis allows you to reprogram the subconscious mind the way that you want. In the state of hypnosis, you will only do things that you want to do.
Often events that happened in childhood can affect the way we think and behave throughout our lives, without us being aware of it. Through hypnosis, we can access these events, help the client work through the issues and find peace and healing.
What can Hypnotherapy do?
Hypnosis is used to enhance performance, modify behaviour, and ease stress throughout the corporate world, personal lives and sports. Tiger Woods, one of the greatest pro golfers of all times uses hypnosis regularly, not only to enhance his performance but also to keep him focused and directed on the golf course. Watch Tiger Woods the next time that he is golfing on TV. Pay close attention to what he does just before he makes his move. He blinks his eyes twice. This is a technique that he learned in hypnosis which is his way of putting himself right where he needs to be in order to excel at his game. It puts him in a place where there is nothing but positive focus on the task at hand. Some of the greatest people that have ever lived have accomplished so much and have performed magnificent accomplishments during and after hypnosis. Just to name a few that might simply amaze you are Mozart, car manufacturer and billionaire, Henry Ford, as well as Thomas Edison. Jackie Kennedy-Onassis used hypnotherapy to help her overcome the tragedy that she experienced during the assassination of her late husband John during his US presidency.
People suffering from stress and anxiety, phobias, depression, illnesses can find healing through hypnotherapy. Gerri Halliwell and Sarah Ferguson used hypnotherapy for weight management. Drew Barrymore, Ashton Kutscher, Ben Afflek and Charlize Theron used it to combat their smoking habit. Hypnotherapy is used for pain management and childbirth, Jessica Alba used it for the birth of her second child, and it is even used for anesthesia.
Hypnotherapy makes use of hypnosis, an amazing tool that is completely natural, has absolutely no side-effects and is extremely powerful. People have healed themselves from things such as cancer, allergies, ADD in children and much more through the use of hypnotherapy.
Ultimately it is all about the power of the mind. Current research shows that the conscious thinking part of our brain uses only one percent. The rest is all powered by subconscious, creative processes of which we are not aware, but have a huge impact on what we think and how we behave.
In hypnotherapy, through the use of hypnosis we can access some of those processes, help clients reprogram their minds, and make huge differences in peoples lives. The therapist taps into the subconscious mind, feeding it with positive information allowing it to know that you are efficient, effective, positive, you can handle stress, you are a hard worker, successful etc. which is why so many people choose this method. 4 年Sounds pretty darn impressive. I know well the iceberg story and it is profound for most of us to realize that 90% of our decisions are run by our subconscious mind. We really aren't in control are we?
