Nugget: Vision Without Traction Is Hallucination
Read below or?watch the full video.
Before I started working with EOS?, I would have these great?vision?statements for my own company and also for clients when we looked at the?vision. Sometimes our?vision?statements would be so big and so far out in the future, that they became less inspiring. They could even become overwhelming.
Since working with EOS?, I've learned that you have to start with?traction. We have the famous saying, “Vision?without?Traction?is?Hallucination”.
What you do is, you first have to do the groundwork of building your accountability chart, getting your scorecard in place that you see what resources you have at your disposal, and what is possible, before you start setting your?vision. You need to have the discipline first and find firm foundation first, and then you dream. Now, when you set those?vision?statements, and when you look at where you want to be in 10 years, in three years and a year from now, you need to be inspiring. You need to be in a place where you're gonna take people with you on that journey. So it needs to be inspiring, but it also needs to be achievable. It needs to be based in reality of where you started.
So that is a really powerful principle. Put that discipline down first, get your?traction?components sorted out, and then get your?vision?get everyone on the same page where we're going. It is powerful indeed.
I hope you found this helpful. If there is anyone in your life that you care enough about that you want them to have the blessing of EOS?, let me know, and I'll gladly tell them more. Have a great week!
Best wishes,
Nico
