Nugget: Be... Still

The next energy discipline from the book?EOS Life?by Gino Wickman we want to discuss is simply, “Be?Still”.?
In this little chapter Gino speaks about how important it is for us to clean our brains from time to time, to just become?still?and let our brains rest and?be?able to become creative again. He uses the analogy of the?picture of a glass of water with some sand in the bottom. It represents our day. He shakes the glass to represent the busyness of the day and the sand starts swirling around. The water becomes murky.?
So, it's our job to stop, become?still?and let the sand settle to the bottom of the glass. This will give us a clearer picture of what we need to do.?
There are some simple techniques we can use to become?still.?
The first one is to simply breathe, to breathe in and breathe out, and breathe in and breathe out, and bring your heart rate down. If you can have the discipline to have your out breath longer than your in breath, your heart will slow down and your breath will bring you to a place of stillness.?

That leads us to the topic of meditation. I asked a very well-known leader when COVID was hitting an with all the chaos that ensued, how she stayed so cool, calm and collected. She answered me that twice a day she would do 10 minutes of meditation. She simply used an app, found a quiet corner and for 10 minutes did her meditation every day, and that stilled her and brought her to a place where she could think clearly again, and then tackle the day. So meditation cab?be?very powerful.?
I'm a Christian, so I linked that to prayer as well. In my meditation, sometimes I'll simply start talking to God and ask for wisdom. That brings me to a safe and quiet place where I feel protected and from where I can come back with renewed strength.?
So, there you have it. If you feel the world is a busy place, if your day becomes murky, just become?still. You can use meditation, you can use prayer, or you can just simply breathe. It will help you to?be?still?and to?be?better.?
Have a great week.
Best wishes,
