Nugget: 10-Year Thinking
Click here?to listen to this newsletter.
In the book? The EOS Life, at the end,?is a discussion on the so-called?10?Energy Disciplines.?
These are disciplines that you can bring into your life so that you conserve your energy and you spend your energy in the places where it'll have the biggest impact.
The first principle is called?10-Year?Thinking.?Here the author speaks about how we human beings are wired, and how, when we set goals and targets that are close to us, we tend to over-shoot - we?think?we can do better than we'll actually do. But if we set our targets far out, we normally underestimate what we can do in that time frame.?
10-Year?Thinking?helps us to put ourselves?10?years?from today. The exercises that is used is to?think, how old you are today and how old you will be?10?years?from today? Write that down. Then you?think?of what you want to achieve in those?10?years. What do you want to be like in?10?years? Put yourself in that frame of mind and?thinking?how old you are, where you are, what you see for yourself. What do you want to have achieved by then. Write those things down.
This will become this big goal for you to achieve. This will draw you into the future.?

It also gives you the freedom to focus on the big and important stuff and not to lose energy on the small stuff, the things of today and tomorrow that might otherwise take your focus away.?
So, may I encourage you, first of all, to read the book? The EOS Life, and then to start building your?10-Year?Target. Where do you want to be in?10?years? This will enable you to conserve your energy. You will be able to spend it wisely, and spend it in the places that will drive you to that goal.?
You'll be pleasantly surprised at how powerful this tool is.?
There you have it. Next week we'll talk about the second energy discipline which is called?Take Time Off.?
Best wishes,
