Earth, Sea & Skin Ltd
Background: As part of the nucleargraduates scheme, all graduates are tasked with setting up and running their own small to medium enterprise within their teams. Importantly, these businesses must adhere to the triple bottom line, meaning that the business must incorporate people, the planet and make a profit that is donated to a charity of their choice at the close of business.
Nucleargraduates team Lillyhall Projects launched their SME business Earth, Sea & Skin Ltd selling sustainably sourced, plastic-free solid moisturiser bars.
Product: Having a solid moisturiser bar removes the need for plastic packaging, as seen with conventional moisturisers.
In addition to being plastic free, we have thought about sustainability of our product, across the whole product lifecycle:
-?????????100% vegan and palm-oil free ingredients
-?????????Sourced from a family run, UK based and cruelty-free supplier
-?????????Made in a workshop run off 100% renewable electricity
-?????????Minimal, 100% biodegradable and recyclable packaging
-?????????Delivered by Royal Mail – the most eco-friendly delivery service due to their large ‘feet-on-the-street’ network.
Charity: Importantly, the current Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of having access to basic hygiene products. Therefore, as sellers of hygiene products we have chosen to donate our profits to The Hygiene Bank – a grassroots community initiative working to tackle hygiene poverty in the UK by collecting and distributing hygiene products to those that need them.

3 年Always an impressive selection of SMEs put together by each nucleargraduates cohort. I attended a recent Energus nucleargraduates' Customer Meeting where we had a brilliant presentation from the team who developed the Innovabox (https://innovalearning.co.uk/)
