Filterability vs Turbidity
Doug Manning
Agency and Consultation: offering technical products and solutions for the fermentation community
Just ran into another one............."my filter plugged" worries
Filterability Index (FI) and Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU) are two different but related specifications [reviewed this piece again and it still spills the T]
I still get to do some actual in person consultation with filtration peeps and bottlers............those folks who bear the responsibility of keeping a wine company in business. Issues of filtration miscues become very expensive very fast.
Standards and specifications of clarity and filterability need to be established and practiced..........part of your Filtration and Bottling HACCP Plan (yeah.....)
