NTT Around the World: Mexico, October 2024

As we learn more about the activities of NTT Group members in this regular series, one thing shines through in every piece: the character of our people. There are several articles which discuss business successes and big wins, but just as many of the stories we feature talk about how NTT Group individuals and teams have worked to help society. NTT Group’s people is its greatest asset.

This article is no exception. In it, NTT DATA Mexico gives details of their volunteering activities, how they organize sessions to discuss their common values, how they go the extra mile to deliver service to an important client during a cybersecurity crisis, and how they come up with clever and practical solutions to support and help a major partner.


Global Volunteer Week 2024 – WIN Employee Resource Group

In February of this year, we celebrated Global Volunteer Week 2024, where an event was organized by the WIN Employee Resource Group for the specialized Center for Adolescent Women (CEMA).

CEMA is an organization created by the Mexican Government for young female offenders between 14 and 21 years old who are repaying their debt to society. The CEMA aims to provide them with tools to help rejoin society once they graduate, through access to online education platforms, as well as promoting self-care by working on psychotherapeutic, sports, or counseling areas. At the time of the event, there were nine girls and one baby in the center.

NTT DATA volunteers helped adapt their multipurpose classroom, decorating and preparing whatever equipment was necessary. One of our volunteers, Sales Vice President Salvador Cors, gave a talk with his wife about the motivation to move forward despite adversity. At the end of the event, donations collected for the CEMA sewing workshop were delivered.


Values Week 2024 – Spanish Sessions

Values Week is an initiative sponsored by NTT DATA which we have celebrated annually for more than ten years. During this time, sessions have been provided to learn more about the company's values: Clients First, Foresight and Teamwork.

Values Week 2024 was held from June 17-28 on the theme “Shaping Our Future Together.” Three sessions were offered in Spanish, attended by employees from countries such as Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, as well as Mexico. Around 90 employees attended each session and a number of special guests shared their experiences of living the NTT DATA values.

It was a week full of stories, positivity and communication between employees. We can't wait for next year’s event!


How NTT DATA kept a business continuity promise

On July 19th, 2024, a bug in a critical application caused the collapse of IT services for airlines worldwide, primarily affecting the Crowdstrike platform for Microsoft. As a result, airlines halted services for hundreds of thousands of customers.

In Mexico, NTT DATA’s support team was called to assess the situation. After implementing disaster response protocols, it was determined that the Crowdstrike configuration file caused the issue. The file was disabled and diagnosis was escalated to Microsoft, allowing for a resolution patch to be implemented later that same day.

Throughout the crisis, we maintained clear communication with the customer, ensuring a focus on problem-solving. As a result, although airlines in Mexico had some delays, no flights were cancelled.


NTT DATA Partnerships

As part of the partnership between NTT DATA and Grupo Bimbo , we are pleased to share that we successfully launched the Grupo Bimbo Consumer Relations team with the objective of continuing to provide and develop Bimbo Bakeries USA World Class Connection Center.

What did we do for them?

1.???? We have a dedicated team that responds to comments on Grupo Bimbo's social media to ensure the Bimbo name and reputation remains protected.

2.???? At the Consumer Relations Contact Center, we respond to consumer calls, emails and chat in a timely and professional manner to any queries about the 12 Grupo Bimbo brands we support, in three languages: Spanish, French and English.

3.???? We have a mailroom based in Plano, Texas, where we send out over 40,000 coupons annually, scan consumer mail and initiate first contact in support of the foreign affairs process.
