What's New in Digital
In this?interview, Lindsey Bast,?Senior Strategist and Advertiser at NTM, speaks with Andrew about the big questions surrounding what the formula is these days and what’s working in digital marketing.?
???1.?Authenticity
Storytelling works well in any marketing activity, but the ultimate essence?of everything comes down to your messaging: is it authentic to who you?are, who your business is, and what your client needs? Have you been?testing it?
Come up with your creative content when you feel most inspired. Honor?who you are, what your essence is and truly what feels more aligned for?you. Testing is important and creative is important, but you don’t always?need to roll out 20 variations - that doesn’t always work with budgets and?timeframes.?
???2. Testing
As we move forward with mobile first, the number of characters seen on an ad is less than it used to be. We need to make sure that when we?write?headlines that are tight and concise and same thing with the hooks,?the?first two lines of copy that someone is going to see when they look at?your ad is the most important things because they are your first touch?point that?someone will connect with you. Testing multiple variations of?those will?show you what formula is working for you. How you determine?what that?should be often ties into who your ideal client avatar is.
Since iOS14 we are finding that it takes the algorithm longer to?optimize.?In?the past, it would take maybe 72 hours to make an?assessment on?whether certain ads were working or not, but now it can?take up to 30 days?to get accurate data. The reason for this is data?attribution delay coming?into Facebook now.
We encourage our live launch clients to determine what their long term list?building strategy is, because with the time it takes to optimize now.?What?are you doing between launches to get the people on your list??How?can?we test different angles of pulling people onto your list? We get?more?aligned people on your list which allows you to nurture them better,?which should get you a higher conversion rate when it comes time to?launch.
??3. Omnipresence
This is definitely the buzz word of the year. Many people are seeing a?downward turn on Facebook and Instagram, so we recommend?branching?out to other platforms like Google, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn.
When it comes to TikTok we are seeing some mixed results and looking at?lower CPM’s. YouTube is having?lower CPM’s right now, so if?you?are?looking to expand your platform, definitely take a look at YouTube.?We?have a lot of clients that had never considered Google or?YouTube?before,?and it’s proving to be quite a lucrative option.
There are always going to be new platforms emerging, and when?you?choose to jump on that will depend on your brand.?
