Emergency Landing on Garie Beach, NSW

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, a Jabiru J400 light plane, registration VH-OSM, manufactured in 2004 and owned privately, made an emergency landing on Garie Beach, south of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, due to engine problems. The aircraft, which departed from Wedderburn Airport (YWBN) and had three occupants on board, sustained minor damage when its nose landing gear collapsed upon landing. No injuries were reported among the passengers or the 61-year-old pilot; authorities, including NSW Police and Fire and Rescue NSW, responded to the incident, and the aircraft was eventually winched off the sand to a nearby carpark. IAF Antonov 32 Wreckage Probe Sought

In Pune, India, the father of Flight Lieutenant, who perished in the Indian Air Force (IAF) AN-32 crash in 2016, has urged for an in-depth investigation following the discovery of the aircraft's wreckage in the Bay of Bengal, off Chennai's coast. The wreckage was found at a depth of 3.4 km, seven years after the incident which resulted in 29 fatalities. The Flight Lieutenant's father, seeks clarity on whether the crash was due to aircraft failure or human error, emphasizing the importance of public disclosure of the investigative report. He also expressed regret over the delayed use of advanced search technologies, which could have possibly expedited the discovery of the aircraft and the bodies onboard. Swiss Startup Sirius Unveils Hydrogen eVTOL, Targets 2025 Takeoff

Swiss company Sirius Aviation has announced the development of the world's first hydrogen-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, aiming for its first demonstration flights in 2025. The Sirius Business Jet, designed to transport three people, boasts a range of 1,851 km and speeds up to 520 km/h, significantly outperforming competitors by utilizing liquid hydrogen propulsion. With over 100 engineers, Sirius has initiated the certification process with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and plans to achieve full certification, commence commercial deliveries, and initiate shuttle flights by 2028.
