NSN India Interface: Indo-Japan Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) - On-the-job training, career growth opportunities and more

Welcome to the latest edition of NSN India Interface! In this edition, we delve into the transformative Indo-Japan Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), a collaborative effort between the Government of India and the Government of Japan aimed at addressing workforce challenges and fostering international skill exchange.

Let's explore some of the key aspects of TITP and recent initiatives:

  1. Initiated in 2017, the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed between India and Japan paved the way for the TITP. Since 2018, Indian candidates have been benefiting from this program, overseen by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) playing a crucial monitoring role.
  2. The Organization for Technical Intern Training (OTIT), a legal entity, oversees the welfare of candidates in Japan on behalf of the Government of Japan. Supervising Organizations (SVOs) play a vital role in placing candidates with employers.
  3. Technical Inten Training Program (TITP) fosters international cooperation through on-the-job training, promoting skill transfer to developing nations.
  4. NSDCI, in collaboration with the North Eastern Council, is spearheading specialized training for nurses from Arunachal Pradesh, unlocking lucrative nursing job opportunities in Japan. This initiative represents a notable expansion of TITP, tailored to meet the distinctive skills and aspirations of North-eastern states.
  5. NSDC's recent Business Matchmaking Seminars in Osaka and Tokyo served as pivotal platforms that highlighted stakeholders and industry leaders about the immense potential of Indian candidates in the global job market.
  6. Mahindra Farm Division marked a significant milestone by dispatching ten skilled workers to Japan, emphasizing their commitment to skill development and globalization underlines the transformative impact of TITP.

  • Possibility to become a Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) post three years of TITP.

According to Noruma Research Institute (the largest economic research and consulting firm in Japan), Japan will face a shortfall of 10.47 million workers, or 15% of the overall workforce, by 2030. TITP – Creating New Growth Opportunities for Indian Youth in Japan

With primary skillsets, technical knowledge, training and proficiency in the Japanese language and culture, the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) stands to be one of the most advantageous career paths for Indian youth in Japan. The program helps candidates build their skills and to seek employment in Japan in various in-demand sectors like healthcare, automotive, agriculture, and manufacturing among others.

A Sending Organization (SO) selects the right candidates for various job roles, trains them, and helps in sending candidates from India to Japan. Our primary focus is on Japanese language training, but we also do domain training in caregiving and auto mechanic training, depending on the need.

TITP: Empowering Indian youth through skill training in Japan

“I always advise candidates to look at the big picture and experience new things in life. Japan is one of the most developed economies in the world. Indian youth must consider going to Japan to hone their skills and knowledge. Once they are back in India, they can be part of the new initiatives and projects that the Government of India is taking up.
