NSBE Aerospace SIG Recognition

NSBE Aerospace SIG Recognition

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Aerospace Special Interest Group (SIG) has a mission to equip NSBE members of all generations with tools to support innovating aerospace solutions throughout their lifetime.

The goals are to

  • Provide a sustainable pipeline of Aerospace Professionals that are the catalyst for fulfilling NSBE's mission and
  • Service the NSBE Aerospace pipeline through distinctive value-added technical programming and advocacy deemed critical to navigating the industry.

Within NSBE, the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are programmatic divisions NSBE chartered to link the Society with technology and policy and to promote technical excellence among members in specific industries.

The Aerospace SIG promotes internal and external technical excellence within a defined framework that includes: Research, Outreach, Advocacy, and Development.

NSBE Award - NSBE Technical Outreach Program of the Year

NSBE Technical Outreach Program of the Year Award: This award highlights a SIG supporting the NSBE pipeline starting with our NSBE Jr members. Meeting our members' developmental needs starting with pre-college students and NSBE Jr members through collegiates is critical to securing NSBE's future in aerospace. The SIG has previously secured key partnerships and collaborations with MIT BWSI, AIA's American Rocketry Challenge, and supporting our NSBE Jr Chapters (NSBE FIRE and NSBE BLASS) focused on expanding our members' and allies' access to aerospace careers!
