This act of support, combined with Bradley Darby 's insightful “learn the business” advice, resonated deeply with the graduates, launching them into their tech careers with the knowledge and confidence to take on the world.

My address to the NPower graduates emphasized the significance of their graduation as not an ending, but the awe-inspiring beginning of their journeys.? I likened them to racers at the starting gate, engines revving with revving with anticipation for the exciting opportunities ahead.

I encouraged them to embrace this moment as a launchpad for their dreams, to believe in themselves, and to face challenges with the mantra of “fail fast, recover strong.”? The thriving tech industry, especially in Dallas, presents them with immense potential to shape the future, revolutionize industries, and tackle global challenges.

Sharing my own non-traditional path to success, I recounted my unexpected journey from a temporary mailroom position to discovering a passion for technology, through learning the Siemens Rolm 9751 phone system.? This seemingly ordinary opportunity opened doors I never imagined existed and highlighted the transformative power of seizing opportunities and the profound impact of mentorship.

The Go-Getter Award: This award recognized graduates who exemplified positivity, collaboration, and unwavering grit.? These individuals were more than just committed to their own success, they actively uplifted and inspired their fellow classmates.? With a formidable sense of willpower and determination, they went the extra mile in their respective classes, achieving their personal and professional goals while motivating others to do the same.?? They took a chance and opened doors I never thought possible.
