I walked into a relaxed 'green room' Saturday lunch time...... it was smelling of perfume, full of activity and fresh Lily's and there sat a very relaxed looking Holly Moore - Director of Make Events. She greeted me with a warm welcome, I signed a confidentiality agreement, handed in my mobile phone and she told me that the evenings birthday party, a 75th for an extremely important client, created by Make Events was to star not only the amazing Ronan Keating, but a small petite singer - at which point (being filmed for my reaction) I gasped, held my cheeks and yelled - "does her name begin with a "K"??? To which Holly said "YES!!" - so, incase you haven't guessed, in the same building as us at that point was the one, the only, KYLIE MINOGUE!
After the shock had subsided we got straight to work with a team meeting and venue show around. The whole team were friendly, pro-active, organised and most importantly all willing to completely get stuck in with pulling together the loose ends of this event before it kicked off in 3 hours time!
I found myself shifting empty crates, hoovering whilst Kylie sound-checked, (yes, hoovering whilst Kylie sound checked,) meeting and greeting my act, taking out rubbish, checking name places and straightening butter knifes!
In the corridors echoed the warm up sounds of the most amazing acapella choir rehearsing, instruments passed me in the entrances, Ballerina's stretched and pirouetted in the green rooms, magicians and dancers got ready and more and more and more flowers were put into place whilst hundreds of tea-lights and candles were lit one by one.
Throughout the whole night the event went super smoothly, every detail thought of, every base covered, timings to the moment and everyone continually working as a team throughout the evening.
There was a drinks reception with performers, music, and a stunning mirror-ball dancer, a 3 course meal with surprise acts throughout and swiftly followed by Ronan! There was then a night club created with a Kabuki to reveal KYLIE! followed by more entertainment and a full flower market so guests could take home plants and flowers on their way home!
I can only describe Holly Moore as a complete inspiration! She is clearly one of the most talented business woman I have ever met with a creative vision that can't be put into words.....and it was a complete honour to work with her and her team on such an incredible and perfect event!
