“Everywhere you look, there are stories unfolding around fungi, connecting all life in the forest. But of all the fungal species on Earth, we’ve only described about five percent,” says biologist Merlin Sheldrake (previously) in the trailer for the visually stunning, immersive new film Fungi: Web of Life.

Pay attention!?

A few things about attention

Our most formidable asset is the art of attention. In this modern era, where the cacophony of information inundates us from all angles, mastering the craft of focus has become a priceless skill.

For creative souls, those who dance with imagination and court innovation, attention becomes the currency of their craft—a treasure that can either birth brilliance or bury it.

We ?? Milton Glaser
The brain is actually more like an overgrown garden that is constantly growing and throwing off seeds, regenerating and so on.

Milton Gleiser, a man who danced with thoughts, once described the brain as the body's most malleable organ. He rejected the cold, mechanical analogy of the brain as a computer. Instead, he saw it as a wild, untamed garden, ceaselessly sprouting new seeds, constantly in flux. He believed that our brains are shaped by every encounter, every experience, even those that lurk in the shadows of our consciousness.

This insight suggests our incredible capacity to steer our focus to illuminate specific parts of our reality. The attention we give doesn't just observe the world; it morphs it, making us not just spectators but creators of our own universe.

Our identity acts as the lens through which we perceive reality, a kaleidoscope of impressions that defines what we unearth. It's through attention that we summon worlds into existence.

Attention brings the world into being.

Who we are shapes how we perceive. And our perception, in turn, sculpts what we uncover. As Iain McGilchrist so poetically put it, 'Attention brings the world into being.' In essence, attention is not just about focusing but about birthing the world as we know it.
