Nowadays, you have to die to get appreciation!

Dearest Darling Friends,?
After the 12th day ceremony for a departed soul, I appreciated the Pandit Ji’s colorful Kurta.
He smiled and retorted, “You are different. Nowadays, one needs to die to get 'appreciation'.”
By virtue of the work he does, his statement made me reflect like a smartphone's battery percentage, our ability to appreciate living people seems to be running alarmingly low. But the moment someone kicks the bucket? BOOM!
Suddenly they're the best thing since sliced bread, and the various Whats App groups lights up with bright eulogies for the departed soul.
It's fascinating how death works better than a PR agency. You could spend years supporting people, standing by them in tough times, helping them in as many ways as possible, but your posts might get less engagement than a picture of your colleague's office plant.
Die, and suddenly, your deeds are more famous than Donald Trump and Elon Musk put together.
In most cases, this phenomenon is so true that I am considering hiring a professional agency to spread rumors about my demise. Legal disclaimer: This is a joke and I am NOT going to do anything like that. I am Narendra Goidani and not Poonam Pande.
The "appreciation after expiration" syndrome is like those free trials that only become tempting after they have ended. We are experts at crafting elaborate eulogies but somehow can't muster the energy to send a ‘great job’ message to a living colleague or a ‘great lunch today’ message to the person who packed your lunch.

Think about acknowledging Rishi’s dad jokes now, rather than posthumously declaring him the "Comedy King."
Let's start a revolution: #AppreciateTheAlive.
Because getting flowers when you can smell them is way better than having them decorating their photo frame during their farewell ceremony.
And if you liked this post, please let me know while I am still around to read your comments. I promise to return the favor without waiting for any tragic events.
