Now we are five.

This week KAST Architects is five years old and what a year it has been!

In the last 12 months we have been on site with 10 projects and alongside our existing workload have been commissioned to design 15 new projects, including 7 new houses, 3 new extensions, 2 renovations, a 15 unit affordable housing scheme, an 8 bed hostel and a new primary school.

In the coming months we expect to complete three new oak frame houses, a new low energy, glulaminated frame office, the extensive renovation and extension of a riverside home and a Cornish barn conversion and extension. Our 9 house development on the north coast of Cornwall is gaining momentum on site and we have recently secured planning approval for a 400m2 replacement dwelling in Devon.

The year has been dominated by the completion of two new houses in Cornwall, Chy Prennek on the north coast and Sylvania on the south. Both have received extensive exposure in the national architectural and self build press as well as being shortlisted for a number of local and national awards. This in turn has led to an increase in enquiries for similar high end coastal developments across the south west.

As always we are maintaining an active role in guest tutoring and lecturing at Falmouth University’s School of Architecture.
