Distributor-focused role:

As the Business Development Manager focusing on North America, you'll operate in the heart of our sales network - our distributors. They are the critical link in our chain, ensuring that our world-leading detectable products reach every corner of the market. In this pivotal role, you'll work directly with our in-house team to facilitate the needs of distributors. In doing so, you will strategise to not only grow their businesses but also deepen their integration into the Detectamet family. This is your chance to empower them and, in turn, fortify the food industries against risks that matter.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Generating profitable sales and market share growth within the distribution channel
  • Developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and meet or exceed sales targets
  • Maintaining and growing customer relationships, performing research to identify potential customers and new market opportunities, prospect customers, establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned distribution accounts
  • Analysing customer and market data to ensure distributors actively marketed and stocked profiles are current and accurately presented
  • Initiating new product launches and supporting distributors with all relevant NPI activity
  • Working collaboratively with distributor buying, marketing and sales teams to increase exposure of the Detectamet value proposition both internally and to the customer base
  • Devising innovative and inspiring sales and marketing strategies
  • Proactively analysing and interpreting Point-Of-Sale (POS) data, with a focus on increasing the number of active customer each distributor supplies
  • Developing and executing distribution focused marketing strategies, with an emphasis on digital channels
  • Promoting the Detectamet brand and product proposition by attending distributor sales meetings and partnering at strategically relevant trade shows
  • Conducting sales presentations and product demos via phone, video conferencing and in-person meetings
  • Monitoring and analysing sales metrics, identifying issues and communicating such to executive leadership
  • Short, medium and long term sales forecasting

You’ll be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have a proven track record of generating long-term customer relationships and sales growth in a relevant field, preferably distribution
  • Are a self-starter, hungry to succeed and driven by a desire to exceed customer expectations and achieve agreed targets
  • Have a strong blend of analytical and commercial skills
  • Can communicate clearly with the ability to influence key decision makers, including senior leaders
  • Are resilient and have the capability to remain goal-oriented through challenging situations?

Role KPIs include:

  • POS revenue growth
  • Distributor category market share growth
  • Increasing the number of actively marketed/stocked products in the distribution channel
  • Active customer base growth (end users)
  • Customer satisfaction score (NPS)
