Now is the Perfect time to QUIT!

Now is the Perfect time to QUIT!

Did you know that most people quit an average of seven times, before the quit smoking for good?

Smoking and tobacco use does so much damage to so many organs and tissues in the body – not just the lungs.

Nicotine binds vitamin C, which is a precursor for collagen. Collagen is important for skin development and is what keeps your skin, blood vessels, and tissues smooth and elastic. The lack of which can often be seen in the premature wrinkling and delayed healing seen with tobacco use - whether chewing tobacco, vaping, cigarettes, or cigars. Did you know that one cigar contain the nicotine of 1 pack of cigarettes?

It’s largely this loss of elasticity that creates the friability in the blood vessels – calling for more and more cholesterol to repair the damage. This destruction, increasing affinity for cholesterol, and the vasoconstriction – or narrowing – of the blood vessels that is an important factor for heart and kidney disease….among a host of other issues.

In this video, I share some of the physiology and some of my favorite strategies to help kick the habit!
