Now Open in Lubbock, Texas

We were thrilled to be on hand in Lubbock, Texas, last month for the opening of the new?Cash Family Ranch Life Learning Center at the National Ranching Heritage Center. Quatrefoil worked with the Heritage Center's team, along with our fabrication partners at Kubik Maltbie, and many others to create a comprehensive indoor and outdoor learning experience. The exhibition, focused on sharing both historical and contemporary ranching stories, appeals to all ages through a variety of?multimedia and interactive elements, including touchscreen games and even a holographic version of author John Erickson.

The exhibition?balances?the playful spirit of Erickson's "Hank the Cowdog" series with the real science of ranching.?Visitors hear about?modern cowboys and cowgirls, their trusted horses, ranch equipment, and family responsibilities. They can even "ride?out" on the prairie through?a 240-degree immersive?video detailing a typical day on the ranch (below). Folks can also learn about natural resources and?local prairie ecology.?We designed a?strategy-based digital game called "The Business of Ranching" that invites visitors to run the ranch and deal with its many challenges.

Another game-style interactive (above) inspires visitors to try to manage?the land?itself using different tools and techniques. Each digital experience is designed with the Heritage Center's target?audiences in mind.Outdoors, we've seamlessly integrated concepts of environmental stewardship?into the landscape, using?wind turbines, solar panels, and designs reflecting the importance of water.In the museum or on the surrounding campus, the displays highlight Lubbock's unique stories and the power of the local environment. So far, reviews have been great!?We were excited to see a synopsis from?Cowgirl Magazine?and another from Texas Tech Today,?confirming?another successful?collaboration between Quatrefoil and our trusted partners at parks, museums, cultural and science centers across the county!
