And now, the music

This morning I dropped a love song, titled Again and Again, under my artist name Wildlife Control. I hope you’ll go check it out and would love to know what you think. Making music feels as natural to me as breathing. I'm amazed that we live in an era with so many tools around us that I can easily record at high quality and distribute at scale, such an important part of who I am personally, to the world.

I’m glad that as I grew as a professional at the intersection of music and business, I eventually realized that bringing my complete self to each morning was vitally important. I’m grateful to have been able to forge a career with companies who are similarly aligned. One of the daily joys of building Wavelo is the culture we are cultivating for our people to bring their whole person to their work. Our People team and leadership genuinely care about... well, people. As a result, I find the work itself and the approach within teams to be inspired and fulfilling for everyone, even while solving a topic as dry and pragmatic as modular telecom software!?

Speaking of pragmatism– after spending the last several years immersed in combining music, machine learning, and robotics, I realized those latter technologies are well-suited to solving other problems (like telecom) and that it’s imperative for humans (like me!) to focus on the organic aspects of art, music, and creativity. Again and Again and the collection of songs to follow this year are the culmination of that realization.

Here on LinkedIn I’ve celebrated professionals at every level who are amazing painters, who love to dance, and who go on walkabouts to rediscover themselves. Talent is a gift and we have a responsibility to share it with one another. I wish someone would have said this to me 20 years ago.

Great leaders lead by example. So here I am following my own advice. Better late than never. Thanks for listening. -WC
