Now I am 60.... my next 10 year plan!!

Hi all I made it, I hit 60 Monday, I'm a leap baby, so its my 15th actual birthday date. What a milestone. Like, when I was actually 15 I used to think 60 was well, like, when most people were nearly dead!!

Now I am almost there I think like I am still a 20 year old, have the wisdom of maybe of a 45 year old, well with my less than average intelligence its 45, maybe it should be 60 or more

I can confide in you that I never quite became a millionaire but my house might make me one living in the leafy suburbs of Berkshire, yes I know its Slough, but Slough is gold trust me, happy to keep it my local secret.

I hoped to play football till I was 60 well I got, the text today the lads have asked if I am available tomorrow evening to play Power League with my sons mates, yes, i always respond straight away. Just in case they think I am not keen any more. Footy at 65 is in my 10 year plan.

I still want to work, enjoy work, do new things explore new challenges. I don't want to be bogged down doing one thing, like my variety. Don't want or need stress, make my choices based on who I enjoy working with, who has the right energy, who values my input, can use my input to help them grow, to move forward and contribute to helping them realising their dreams.

I trust ME now, more than ever, I know my strengths, I know my weaknesses, I know what I like and don't like. I trust others more, i see them for all their beauty flaws and all. They can say and do what they like but I know, I just know. That's called experience. You can't learn experience, you can't teach it, you have to live it.

You are the product of all the pain and joy of life, and that's what makes you the beautiful, flawed, brilliant human being you are. 

So as I write my 10 year plan on the back of a fag packet, I say, friends, trust yourself, aim a little higher, trust others, judge less, be open, be honest, show your love for others, show your interest in others and know that they have the same tough stuff to deal with that you do, allow mistakes, learn lessons, be mildly delusional and always believe it will turn out for the best, because especially after the most painful situations it does work out better. Because your destiny is only partly in your control, just do your best and trust, think good things and great things will happen.
