Distribution company based in Fort Lauderdale, FL is looking to add a Senior Accountant/Business Operations professional to work directly with the Vice President of the company. This new position, created out of organic growth, will spend half the time performing high-level accounting functions and the other half assisting the VP with operational functions.
Accounting Responsibilities (50% of the time):
- Prepare bank reconciliations and cash flow reports
- Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliation, including variance analysis
- Prepare monthly financial statements including reporting packages
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze complex accounting records for financial and management use
- Monitor and maintain inventory records and financial analysis
- Review A/P and A/R transactions for accuracy
- Supervise Bookkeepers and provide guidance when needed
Business Operations Responsibilities (50% of the time):
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
- Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track operational success
- Generate reports and present findings to management
- Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Foster collaboration and communication among different departments
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience in business operations, project management, or a similar skillset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- QuickBooks experience
- Strong MS Excel skills
