NOW EVERYONE CAN FLY

I still remember during my childhood in 80’s, flying in aeroplane  is a very big thing, you must be gifted. The whole family members and relatives will go to Subang airport to send you. If you are going to India especially temples, you are getting the call / blessing from GOD that is why you are chosen. One must be very lucky and gifted to go overseas. Of course, the air fares are too expensive where only few can afford it.

Airasia changed the whole scenario in 2001 after Tony Fernandez took over the company with RM40 million debt in December 2001. He introduced budget airlines in Malaysia with the purpose “Now everyone can fly”. Millions has benefitted from Airasia. Booking in advance allows Malaysian citizens travel all over the world with extremely low air fares. Of course now we have firefly and Malindo to support this purpose.  

Today TF been heavily criticized because he supported Najib (BN) during GE14. All his contributions to country became irrelevant. I personally feel TF is one of the most successful businessmen / leader. He turned the company into RM5 billion revenue company with 17000 employees. Mainly he made traveling in aeroplane is possible for most of Malaysians regardless domestic or international. We should reckon his talent and use it to nation development. Let’s move on by THINKING BIG.
