Now that Baba is back

Will the wagging tongue at Ekiti

Retreat into supine solitude in the dark?

 

While he was at the other icy-kingdom

Your immune gurgling phalanges

Spewed hot coal in your fiefdom 

About our dangling boat’s challenges   

 

And off, countrymen went

Carrying placards

And mega phones to vent

Over repressed angst and clattered

We want to see our Baba

Whether sleeping of awake

For his stay in the white ward

Seem an over-stretched brake
