November Wrap-Up: Delivering the goods—70,000 pounds of produce to be exact

There’s plenty to be thankful for this month! From a totally new website to over 70,000 pounds of food donations, November was truly memorable for our team, our members, and our communities.

Full Stomachs, Full Hearts

Every Thanksgiving, our team finds opportunities to give back. With food insecurity on the rise throughout the City, we came together to make a difference for thousands of people across the five boroughs.

In just a few days, our team assembled 7,000 bags of produce. Containing 10 pounds of fresh, healthy food, each bag was made to feed a family of four. We distributed them at over 100 events across the City. Check out exclusive photos of our people in action here.

The Gold Experience

City employees keep the City running. They deserve a little extra TLC! Every year, we use open enrollment season as an opportunity to celebrate City workers and let them know about the new, exciting benefits available with MetroPlusHealth Gold.

We curated Gold Experiences to express our gratitude for what they do every day. Each event had free treats, giveaways, and plenty of fun to go around.

Although open enrollment ended November 30, some City employees are still eligible to switch in the near future. This includes workers coming up on their first-year work anniversary. More Events, Press, and Celebrations

• This month, we received the Most Significant Outcome Activate 2022 Award by?mPulse Mobile! We partnered with mPulse for our recent HIV Medication Adherence Campaign. With this initiative, we created a messaging platform to send members critical refill reminders. The results were stunning: we saw a 98% enrollment maintenance rate and a 69% improvement in refill completion!
• Congratulations to our very own Sanjiv S. S. , Chief Medical Officer, for being honored as a Healthcare Hero by the American Association of Physicians of India! His groundbreaking work continues to impact national conversations about health equity and accessibility.
• We chatted with Dr. Michelle McMacken about a holistic approach to health during the holiday season. As the Executive Director of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals, she offered thoughtful tips on how to keep an eye on your nutritional needs while taking part in holiday celebrations. • Together with our friends at NYC Health + Hospitals ,? Latino Social Work Coalition and Scholarship Fund, Inc. , Metropolitan Hospital, and the Metropolitan Hospital CAB, we distributed Thanksgiving turkeys and dinner staples to over 100 #EastHarlem families.
