Firefly Aerospace, Founded by Ukrainian Entrepreneur, Raises $175 Million in Funding
Firefly Aerospace, founded by Ukrainian entrepreneur Max Polyakov, has secured $175 million in a Series D funding round, boosting its valuation to over $2 billion. RPM Ventures led the round, with additional backing from GiantLeap Capital and Human Element.
Based in Austin, Texas, Firefly develops small rockets for launching satellites into orbit. Polyakov revived the company in 2017 after acquiring the assets of Firefly Space Systems, and has since expanded operations, including a research center in Dnipro, Ukraine.
The company is preparing for its first lunar mission with NASA’s CLPS program and is also working on launches for clients like Lockheed Martin and NASA. The funds raised will support Firefly’s Alpha rocket and Elytra deep space projects.
