New FAA-approved repair station in Europe – FL Technics received aircraft engines shop certification
What a year! Let us share yet another important milestone for FL Technics. For our Engine Services team in Lithuania to be precise.
FL Technics had guests coming from across the Atlantic in October for a Federal Aviation Administration audit. We are happy to share that a thorough audit went well, and FL Technics was approved to provide aircraft engine repair and maintenance services in Kaunas,?#Lithuania, becoming the first organization in the country and one of the few in a region with such capacity.
This is an important milestone not only for the company but for the whole industry as markets are facing disruptions in the supply chain and excessive demand for aircraft engines to meet the needs of surging operations of airlines across the globe, already reaching the pre-COVID levels.
Julius Bogusevicius, Head of Engine, Airframe and Materials Services at FL Technics, summarizes the synergies and significance of the milestone:
“Addressing the supply and demand for aircraft engines and their components we are continuously investing in our assets, capacity, and capabilities, including a modern purpose-built engine shop with dedicated 5-bay, storage, and support facilities. The certification by FAA marks the achievement of such commitment for us as a team and as a global MRO organization“.
FL Technics has gained EASA approval for base maintenance of the Airbus A320neo family
We’re proud to share that our hangars are as busy as ever! Apart from servicing ‘the regulars’, A320 family, and Boeing 737, our teams are now also working hard to provide the best base maintenance care to the newest ‘patients’ of FL Technics — A320neo.
NEO (New Engine Option) is an A320 aircraft upgrade introduced to ensure reduced noise levels, more passenger space, and exceptional comfort. But most importantly, NEO makes this single-aisle aircraft family the most fuel-efficient in the world, with an annual CO2 emission reduction of 900 tons per aircraft.
Getting approved to provide base maintenance services to these particular aircraft has become a great motivator to unleash the power FL Technics, as an MRO service provider, holds over their operational and environmental performance.
Of course, expanded capabilities will allow FL Technics to build stronger customer relationships and secure long-term opportunities. However, being a part of the change, turning the aviation industry into a more sustainable one, is what inspires us the most.
Partnerships we are proud to nurture
We believe in long-term relationships based on commitment, professionalism, and transparency. We couldn’t be prouder to announce that it’s been 2 years since we’ve been partnering up with Greece’s largest airline?Aegean Airlines?. What a journey it was, with lots of win-wins and value to both businesses along the way!
The picture below proves it right, and this symbolic moment is actually worth hundreds of work hours. It was taken by one of our bay managers releasing an AEGEAN aircraft and finalizing a delivery project to a new lessor after a rigorous process of getting the aircraft back to airworthiness. It illustrates the end-to-end attention to detail and our team’s commitment to the clients — every airplane we maintain is more than just an MRO project. We put effort, strive for the best possible solutions, and release aircraft back to service, devoting genuine care to the success of our partners.

FL Technics Capabilities - Cockpit window frame change
Even the tiniest crack on the cockpit window frame is the worst nightmare for the airlines and leasing companies, as it is an expensive and high engineering skills requiring task. For FL Technics team of skilled and experienced aviation engineers such a task is a challenge we always accept with ease.
Recently, while repairing one of our client’s aircraft, we detected a crack using a special non-destructive eddy current inspection. The crack was located across the entire stiffener, which strengthens and ensures the stability of the front upper cockpit side window’s corner. The frame had to be replaced immediately due to the extent of the damage and it dangerous position affecting aircraft airworthiness .
The replacement of the window frame requires extensive removal of the aircraft’s cockpit as well as several fuselage skin panels. Our team of experienced aviation engineers performed the replacement without any struggles. As the industry experts, we pride ourselves in high expertise requiring tasks.
Hats off to all our NDT specialists, sheet metal workers, and aircraft engineers who had to work together to complete this project successfully!
Giving back to local universities
Giving back to the future generations and nurturing partnerships with local universities is something FL Technics is happy to be part of.
We know how challenging the world can be after the university graduation, therefore, we encourage to get closer to aviation while the students are still in their studies.
Recently we had a meeting with Aerospace engineering students from one of the Universities in Vilnius, Lithuania. While it is interesting to learn the theoretical part of the aviation, it is far more better to to apply the knowledge in practice. There is no better way than visiting the actual aircraft hangar where the bay managers can explain what current projects they are working on.

2 年It is always a good feeling when there are works to do in the hangar as it has been said here. I like the upgrade to the aircraft mentioned here. One of the best modifications an aircraft can get is the noise reduction, and it is so good that it is being researched. I am always happy when I see the Aerospace industry doing so well like this. Great going forward FL Technics. I am a mechanical Engineering student currently, but my ambition is to study and become an aerospace engineer as i have great feeling and interest about the Aerospace industry. I am open to any opportunity, and it will be one of my best moments in life if I achieve my purpose. I will also be willing to visit the Hangar if there is an opportunity.
