November Newsletter
November was full of great moments for the estates and facilities.?We started the month with the fantastic NHS Chef 2023 final. Darby Hayhurst and Dylan Lucas from East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust were crowned the winners after a tough final. The quality of food throughout the competition was outstanding. All of the teams demonstrated the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm we know is in abundance throughout the estates and facilities workforce, delivering tasty and healthy food on an NHS budget. This competition is in its third year and I feel it really highlights how rewarding a career as an NHS chef can be. Congratulations to all of our finalists and if you are considering a career as an NHS chef, we have some great guidance on Chef/cook | Health Careers.

The celebrations continued at the Building Better Healthcare Awards which I was lucky enough to attend. Now in its 25th year, this event shines a light on innovation within the healthcare sector. The finalist included some incredible designs and buildings that all delivered amazing benefits to both patients and staff, reminding us how important the environment is to a modern sustainable care pathway.

And finally, we have hit the milestone of over £2bn in concluded call-offs through the ProCure23 Construction framework. A massive well done to all involved.

Best wishes, Simon
