November Newsletter - Bridging Digital Gaps

It was a pleasure to meet Dr Cosmas Zavazava, Telecommunications Development Bureau of ITU, on 24 October in Geneva. His warm reception expressing his commitment to impacting digital competences on the ground means a lot to our students and volunteers on the ground and globally who are working on making education accessible to all.

We look forward to joining forces on our mutual goal of meeting SDG4 amongst others through online learning, ensuring digital and computer skills in youths and adults around the world.?

Educational Assignments - solid cosmetics

Solid cosmetics made from natural ingredients to prevent plastic waste and protect water

As part of our semester 2 assignment in STEM, entrepreneurship, life skills and English our students are learning how to make solid cosmetic products such as shampoo, conditioner, shower and body butter bars. These products use ingredients certified for natural cosmetics. They are better for hair and skin than conventional products, protect the water and avoid plastic waste.

Are you interested in sampling any of our products? We are offering them in our online shop (https://art.empowermefirst.college/), yet they’re currently only available in Switzerland. Soon you’ll also be able to purchase them in Zimbabwe, especially in Victoria Falls and Bulawayo. Please contact us, if you are interested and read more on our website.

Device Donations

Devices donated by Secondary School Neftenbach used by empowermefirst students

Our students have been celebrating the device donations that arrived in October from Secondary School Neftenbach. With this donation, we have reached 1 device for 2 to 3 students which is far above national average and will allow our students to effectively improve their ICT skills. We look forward to further partnership with the school.
