An update on our community pocket forests
Thanks to our incredible Miyawaki planting partners Australia-wide, we’ve planted 7 new community pocket forests this past year. These compact forests are ideal for the rapid greening of urban environments and are already demonstrating localised benefits, including reducing urban heat. They create dense, biodiverse mini-forests in spaces as small as 100m2.
A special thanks to our dedicated planting partners who are on the ground bringing these tiny but mighty forests to life with the help of local volunteers – all funded by Carbon Positive Australia.
Our heartfelt gratitude to The Groundswell Collective , Anna Noon , Grey Coupland , Murdoch University , Harry Butler Institute , Edwina Robinson from The Climate Factory, Brettacorp Inc. , and the Auri family for their amazing efforts. Here’s to many more community pocket forests in the future!
