Pediatric?Program Update

Thanks to our partnership with Austin Achieve, half Helen is excited to launch a pilot program that brings students directly to our clinic for vision care services. This initiative allows us to test innovative ways to increase access to eye care, especially for students facing challenges in reaching their appointments. By addressing transportation and logistical barriers, we’re helping more young learners receive essential eye care, positively impacting both their health and educational journey.?

We’re especially grateful to Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Mengoli for leading this program and ensuring that each child receives comprehensive, compassionate care. Just this Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming 21 Austin Achieve students to our new clinic! This collaboration is a significant step toward our mission of removing barriers to vision care and supporting families in our community.

We're (Still) Growing!

Exciting News! We’ve officially completed the installation of our brand-new, second exam lane—a major step forward in meeting our community’s vision care needs. This new lane is equipped with state-of-the-art tools to deliver comprehensive eye exams, allowing us to expand our impact even further. This milestone would not have been possible without the incredible support of our donors, partners, and community. A heartfelt thank you to Rick Capozza and Texas Capital Bank for their generosity in making this expansion a reality. Your support directly fuels our mission and enhances our ability to serve those in need.

Celebrating at Celebrando!

Half Helen was honored to attend this year’s Celebrando Gala, hosted by the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It was an inspiring evening celebrating the Chamber’s impact on our community and the dedication of so many individuals committed to uplifting Austin’s Hispanic businesses and families. The Chamber has been a key partner on our journey, supporting us through significant milestones—including ribbon-cutting ceremonies for both of our clinics. Their partnership has been instrumental in helping us expand our services and broaden our reach.

With many of our patients coming from the Hispanic community, we are pleased to collaborate with the Chamber in ways that enhance our ability to serve these families. We look forward to many more years of partnership with the Hispanic Chamber as we continue working toward a shared vision of access, opportunity, and well-being for all in our community.
